Working Group on Social and Political Aspects of AIDS in Uganda
Activities
Peer Support: Members of the working group are encouraged to provide peer support and collegial reviewing of other members work-in-progress. At our workshops, we will provide opportunities for members to link-up with peers who are best able to offer support.
Announcements of Opportunities: Any member is welcome to post announcements for scholarships, fellowships, conferences, employment or other research-oriented opportunities for fellow members. Please remember that deadlines are often short, so post your announcements in good time to allow interested respondents to reply.
Networking and Referrals for Research Assistance/Translation in Uganda: Interested members and visitors are invited to contact Jenipher Twebaze who will gladly network you with our members who are available for contract work as research assistants and translators. Within our network at the Child Health and Development Centre(CHDC), we have a number of experienced women and men who speak the many languages used in Uganda and have training with quantitative and qualitative methods. Child Health-based researchers have undertaken diverse projects for international and national scholars.
Facilitation: If you or your organization would like to hold an event or speaker in Kampala on the social and political aspects of AIDS, the network will be happy to facilitate your contacts through Child Health and Development Centre. Please contact Jenipher Twebaze who will assist you.
Activism: The working group, its workshops, seminars and website aspire to provide a non-affiliated forum for sharing ideas and experiences that will support the people living with HIV and AIDS and those caring for them. If we can provide a sounding board, public opportunity for brainstorming, information resource or research network for activist and practitioners based in Uganda, please contact Jenipher Twebaze.
