The Ministry of Health through UNEPI and the MoES in collaboration with PATH will soon implementing an HPV Vaccine demonstration project in Ibanda and Nakasongola.

Nested within the vaccine demonstration project CHDC is to implement research studies designed to ensure critical questions relating to the introduction of the HPV vaccine. The questions relate to issues of acceptability, feasibily and the cost of the two strategies that are to be used for reaching girls for a full course of HPV vaccine for the priod (2008 - 2010).

The CHDC Institutional Research Board has been constituted and approval by the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology, and now in operation.  

The centre is also continuing to write research proposals in different areas to fulfil its mandate, by responding to call from different institutions and organisations.
